Homemade Botanical Olive Oil Soaps
Grateful Gardener Soaps are made in small batches with simple recipes and quality ingredients.
  • Ingredients include: saponified olive oil, Alberta sourced beeswax, pure essential oils and herbs, flowers and vegetables grown in my own garden.
  • I do not use artificial scents or colouring, preservatives, foaming agents or palm oil.
  • The soap is packaged in unbleached parchment paper.
Olive Oil has been used for thousands of years in the Mediterranean as a soap ingredient. The olive oil is saponified using sodium hydroxide to make glycerin and the fatty acid, sodium olivate. The glycerin created in the saponification process remains integrated in the soap.  Olive oil soap is also known as Castile soap.

Tip for caring for your homemade soap
Keep your soap in a soap dish with holes or elevated ridges or in a spot where it will not sit in water.
Your soap will last much longer if you allow it to dry out between uses.
